Toronto Sign By-law Project Public Consultations: Jan 20, 21, 22, 29
The City of Toronto is preparing a new sign by-law. It will replace the individual sign by-laws of the former municipalities. The new sign by-law will update the standards for signs on private property, address current sign issues, and reflect the diverse character found in Toronto communities. The Sign By-law project will also explore ways where signage will support the City’s efforts in energy conservation and revenue generation. More »

Queen Charlotte’s Birthday Ball
The next fort event will be Queen Charlotte’s Birthday Ball on January 19th, a day-long celebration of music, food and dance. This year, for the 200th anniversary of the commencement of the Peninsular War, the theme is Portugal and the Anglo-Portuguese alliance. Join us for English Country Dancing, a Port Tasting and a wonderful Georgian dinner (buffet-style) featuring Portuguese influenced recipes found in early nineteenth century British cookery books. The volunteer historic cooks have been busy testing and sampling recipes and the results have been delicious! See page 8 of the newsletter for more information.
