Kudelka turns to America’s Gilded Age and Edith Wharton’s 1905 novel, The House of Mirth, as inspiration for his latest work. From the House of Mirth is a music/dance/theatre collaboration with original score by Rodney Sharman and libretto by Alex Poch-Goldin, featuring both choreography and theatrical direction by Kudelka. CLC_Varenka_E_poster.jpgColeman Lemieux & Compagnie proudly presents Varenka, Varenka!, an acclaimed 2003 choreographic work from co-Artistic Director Laurence Lemieux that runs March 21-31 at the company’s new dance centre in Regent Park, The Citadel.

Inspired by Fyodor Dostoevsky’s first novel Poor Folk, the literary work is presented as a series of letters between Makar Dievushkin and Varenka Dobroselova that tells a tragic tale of an aging clerk and his love for a young woman. A profound account of the lives of the poor in the mid-nineteenth century Russia, their sincere affection for each other transforms into the downfall of one of them. More »

The acclaimed Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie (CLC) presents the world premiere of Les cheminements de l’influence (Pathways of Influence), a striking solo dance work created and performed by CLC co-Artistic Director Laurence Lemieux as a tribute to her father, eminent political scientist and sociologist Vincent Lemieux. The renowned dance company Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie (CLC) proudly announces the opening of the Citadel, a new centre for contemporary dance in Toronto’s Regent Park community.
