Carrying on Helen Porter’s inspiration of storytelling and improvised jazz, storytellers Jim Blake, Mariella Bertelli and Rico Rodriguez tell stories of travel, journeys and discovery. Musicians/composers Lina Allemano (Trumpet), Rob Clutton (Bass) and Tim Posgate (Guitar) create jazz soundscapes for each story. Actor/Artist Randi Helmers paints works in response to each telling. Invisible Atom

Necessary Angel Theatre Company presents 2b theatre company’s production Invisible Atom, previewing March 18 and running from March 19-30, 2008 at Theatre Passe Muraille’s Backspace in Toronto. Invisible Atom is written and performed by Anthony Black and directed by Ann-Marie Kerr.

Black, who is artistic co-director of 2b with Christian Barry, is spending this year as artist-in-residence with Necessary Angel. “The partnership with Necessary Angel represents a good opportunity for 2b to reconnect with Toronto audiences and to do some more work on the show. We’ve had some dramaturgical sessions with Daniel Brooks which have inspired some new ideas,” says Black. More »
