Every year, book artists, printmakers, papermakers, and private press printers gather at OCAD to show their work and demonstrate their skills in OCAD’s Great Hall. The university community and general public are welcome to come and watch artists at work making paper, printing from litho stones, screen printing, hand typesetting, book binding, wood engraving, etching and much more. Many items are available for sale, providing unique ideas for holiday gift giving. Admission is pay-what-you-can.

In the world première of Montreal choreographer Lucie Carmen Grégoire’s latest work, Ôs, a quintet of dancers awake and discover the music of their inner bodies. The performers play each other like instruments: an arm is a harmonica, hands tap chests, and boots become drums. The dancers’ syncopated breathing and expressive vocalization bond into a joyous communal micro-society. They move in compelling waves of sculptural connection, in mutual support of each other. It was founded by Britt Small (who also stage manages Legoland, currently running at Theatre Passe Muraille to December 6) and Jacob Richmond in 2004. Acclaimed British writer Alan Bennett penned a groundbreaking series of darkly funny monologues, grouped under the title Talking Heads, that were broadcast on BBC-TV starting in 1988, and starred such legendary actors as Julie Walters, Patricia Routledge, Eileen Atkins and Maggie Smith.
