The show adapts to its setting: the country, city and building in which it is performed. The Marriage of Anansewa (1975) is a finely crafted play by Ghanaian playwright Efua Sutherland that celebrates the famed wiles of Ananse, the West African spider man storyteller. In The Marriage of Anansewa, Ananse represents a kind of Everyman, artistically exaggerated and distorted to serve society as a medium for self-examination.
