Redeemer Plays U2: September 14

Redeemer Plays U2 – Monday, September 14, 7 p.m. at the Church of the Redeemer, 162 Bloor Street W. (at Avenue Road).  The Rev’d Andrew Asbil discusses the theological connections to the latest U2 album, No Line on the Horizon.

Colin Ainsworth sings Schubert’s “Die Schöne Müllerin”: September 30

Gifted Canadian tenor Colin Ainsworth graces the stage of York University’s Tribute Communities Recital Hall with a performance of the celebrated German song cycle “Die Schöne Müllerin” composed by Franz Schubert to poems by William Müller. Jacques Israelievitch, violin recital: September 22

jacquesviolincolor500 - Credit Cylla von Tiedemann_1.jpgInternationally renowned violinist Jacques Israelievitch is one of North America’s most distinguished performing artists He joined the professoriate in York University’s Music Department in 2008.  His debut performance on campus launches the 2009-2010 Faculty Concert Series, and takes place September 22 in the Tribute Communities Recital Hall at York.

Israelievitch will be partnered on stage by his department colleague, eminent pianist Christina Petrowska-Quilico. The program is composed of French masterworks by Debussy, Ravel, Poulenc and Pierné. More »
