A touching, humorous and inspiring tale, this dark, original musical comedy follows a young girl’s battle with cancer. Starring Gabi Epstein, Jeff Madden, Amanda LeBlanc and Jonathan Logan, Dani Girl opens February 18, 2012 and runs until March 4, 2012 at the Theatre Passe Muraille Backspace. More »

Bathurst Street Theatre, “Zero Hour”: February 8 – March 11

He re-creates the definitive backstory to this amazing performer’s appearances in such shows as Fiddler on the Roof, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Mel Brooks’ The Producers (film) and many more. Brochu is both hilarious and poignant as he recounts Mostel’s big life – as a Broadway legend, a larger than life personality and the target of Hollywood blacklisting.

Sylvain Émard Danse, “Fragments – Volume I”: March 3

DanceWorks, Toronto’s longest-running contemporary dance series, presents Sylvain Émard Danse with the Toronto premiere of Fragments – Volume I, a collection of four short dance works set in contrasting worlds, choreographed by the award-winning Sylvain Émard of Montreal.

Obeah Opera: Feb 16 – March 4

A total musical journey with a twist, the evocative production celebrates significant influence of black music combining blues, folk, jazz, gospel, spirituals, R&B, and traditional genres.  Created (book, libretto, and music) by Nicole Brooks, this mesmerizing work will be presented as part of Black History Month at the 918 Bathurst Cultural Centre from February 16 – March 4, 2012.
