Once Upon a Mattress: May 27, 28, June 4, 5, 9, 11
ART SMART
a partnership of the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board and Theatre Ancaster,
presents
ONCE UPON A MATTRESS
from May 27, 2011 to June 5, 2011.
ONCE UPON A MATTRESS features the music of Mary Rodgers, lyrics by Marshall Barer, and a book written by
Jay Thompson, Dean Fuller, and Marshall Barer, opened off-Broadway in 1959, and marked Carol Burnett’s first
major success as an actress.
Hans Christian Andersen’s The Princess and the Pea is given new life in ONCE UPON A MATTRESS. No one in
Prince Dauntless’s kingdom is permitted to marry until the prince himself exchanges vows — a problem hindered by
the fact that the prince’s overprotective mother, Queen Aggravain, has thus far thwarted all efforts to marry her
son.
The ONCE UPON A MATTRESS production team includes Director Sam Frisk, Choreographer Kelly George-Dalgleish,
Music Director Mark Reese, and Vocal Director Janice Reese.
Public performances take place May 27, 28, June 4, 9 and 11, 2011 at 7pm, and June 5 at 1pm in Hill Park Secondary School’s newly renovated Theatre Auditorium, at 465 East 16th Street in Hamilton, Ontario.
For tickets visit Hill Park’s Main Office or call 905-385-3257, ext. 229. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $5 for students.
The box office will open one hour prior to curtain on performance dates.
