Take a mid-week break from the grind and come celebrate with four amazing, talented and beautiful women. Showcasing stories and experiences through music and spoken word, they will be raising awareness for charities that aid women and children trying to rebuild their lives from the aftermath of domestic abuse.

You will be serenaded by the beautiful and incredibly hilarious Second City Veteran Kat & The P3, shocked and titillated by slam poet and sizzling sensation Cathy Petch, to be brought back to a reality with the dark and ironic poetry of Lizzie Violet, then carried off into a beautifully lyrical wonderland by jazz/pop singer-songwriter Arlene Paculan.

What Wonder Women Is All About

Wonder Women was created by Mississauga native and singer-songwriter, Arlene Paculan, who had an idea to showcase female singer-songwriters of diverse genres, put them in front of a variety of audiences so their fan base grows, as well as raise funds and awareness for associations that are female driven.

Arlene is currently planning her 5th Wonder Women, to be held at the Amphitheatre at Celebration Square in Mississauga. The event would kick-off with an afternoon of networking and workshops to help the attendants hone their craft. The event will end with a 2 hour showcase of female talent, from singers, songwriters, rappers, DJs, b-girls, spoken word artists and more. Artwork and films can be showcased at the networking event during the day. Wonder Women has previously raised funds for the Canadian Women’s Foundation and the Mississauga Arts Council.

The theme of Wonder Women is to remind the performers, as well as the audience, that women are strong and empowering in all aspects of life and creativity. The networking event and concert welcomes both genders to participate and watch, however, the goal is to have all the artists and teachers of the workshops female.
