The Boilermakers and Ironworkers Union brings together the work of artists Camille Turner and Rick Hill, curated by Jennifer LaFontaine. Growing up in the family of boilermakers and ironworkers respectively, both Camille and Rick have carved out their own life paths from these working families to becoming working artists. Both draw on their family experiences and infuse these identities into their artistic practices.   More »

Pioneering Canadian Photographer George Hunter to Exhibit in Hamilton

(Hamilton) George Hunter’s work holds an esteemed place in Canadian photographic history. It has been featured in no fewer than four pavillions at Expo ’67. It has been launched into outer space as part of the Voyager II Mission. It has also graced the wallets of millions of Canadians as part of designs for the $5 and $10 dollar bills (Pre 1998). Now an exhibition of the photography of George Hunter will open in Hamilton May 13th at the Workers Arts & Heritage Centre. More »
