The 2011 Brott Festival begins with an orchestral mini-series, Beethoven in Burlington – this year increased from three concerts to four. All take place at 7:30 p.m. at St. Christopher’s Anglican Church, 662 Guelph Line (at New Street), Burlington, and feature the National Academy Orchestra, Maestro Boris Brott, and acclaimed guest soloists and conductors.

Tickets are $32; $27 seniors, and $10 students (plus HST) – or all four at a 15% discount. An additional $5 per ticket ensures a seat in the Reserved Section. More »

Boris KrajnĂ˝ (b. 1945) is a foremost Czech pianist and piano teacher. He has performed in New York (Carnegie Hall), Washington (Kennedy Center),London (Wigmore Hall), Paris (Salle Gaveau), Berlin,Brussels, Vienna, Salzburg, Moscow (Tchaikovsky Hall), Buenos Aires (Teatro ColĂłn),Tokyo, Sydney (Opera), Baalbek and other towns and cities on five continents. He studied at the Academy of Music in Prague with František Maxián and Ivan Moravec, subsequently winning first prize at the Senigallia competition in Italy and an honourable mention at the Queen Elizabeth competition in Brussels (1975).
