An Introduction is a selection of local artists that Earls Court Gallery would like to highlight to Hamilton and the surrounding area. Original works by more than 50 artists from the Hamilton area and across the country will be featured at the eagerly awaited Art Gallery of Hamilton’s annual Spring Art Sale, Thursday, May 3 to Sunday, May 6. The four-day sale showcases exciting new works – paintings, sculpture, glass, pottery and jewelry – by established and emerging artists, who are invited to participate in the Spring Art Sale through a selection process. Admission to the sale is free. The AGH Spring Art Sale is held at the Art Gallery of Hamilton, 123 King Street West, downtown Hamilton. Oakville Galleries, “Room” and “Kingdom Come”: Opening September 25
This fall, Oakville Galleries is pleased to present solo exhibitions by two Canadian artists that will transform its spaces with new site-specific works. Rooms, on view at Oakville Galleries in Gairloch Gardens, features a series of multimedia installations by Toronto based artist Marla Hlady that bring together sonic and sculptural elements to draw attention to the otherwise unnoticed soundscapes of the building, formerly a private residence. Kingdom Come, on view at Oakville Galleries at Centennial Square and commissioned in honour of the fortieth anniversary of Sheridan College?s Art & Art History Program, presents an in situ wall painting by alumnus Denyse Thomasos, completed with the assistance of the college?s current students and recent graduates.
