Join us for an artists tour and talk with Kent Monkman. Explore the drama,
humour and vast talent that are all equal parts of the current AGH
exhibition, The Triumph of Mischief. Monkman is an artist of Cree ancestry
who works with a variety of mediums, including painting, film/video,
performance and installation. His work tackles the canon of art and
cinematic history by deconstructing images and narratives of Aboriginal
people as interpreted by 19th century European artists. For more

Historical Perceptions Summer Tours: July 7, 21, August 4, 25
Robin McKee’s “Stories in the Stones” cemetery tours commence from the entrance to the Hamilton Cemetery, 777 York Boulevard (across from Dundurn Castle), at 11:00 am and last for about two hours. On each occasion there will be a lively and informative tour of selected grave sites in historic Hamilton Cemetery. You will be introduced to some of Hamilton’s interesting personalities and be enriched in your knowledge of local history. The tours take place rain or shine. This exhibition features 103 black and white photographs taken by George Hunter as he traveled across Canada during the decade 1945-55. For his more than sixty year career as a photographer, archivist and historian his mission has been to capture the beauty of the Canadian landscape and also to record the working life and the faces of the people that he encountered. This exhibition is organized by the Art Gallery of Mississauga and curated by Robert Freeman.
