The communities of Oakville, Mississauga and Toronto are invited to take a ride on the Oakville Galleries ARTbus to galleries in the west GTA. Participants will be guided through the exhibitions presented at Oakville Galleries, Art Gallery of Mississauga and Blackwood Gallery by the shows� artists and curators. Snacks will be served. You Are What You Do, opening Friday, October 17, launches the Artword @ The Pearl theatre season. Artword Theatre’s first production in its new home at The Pearl Company, You Are What You Do is an original musical play based on true stories of the lives of working men and women. Written and directed by Artword’s Artistic Director Ronald Weihs, You Are What You Do is a high-spirited ensemble production, with a cast of six plus two musicians, that uses songs, mime and inventive staging to celebrate the energy and imagination of real people.
The production previews Thursday October 16, opens Friday October 17 and runs to Sunday October 26, with shows Thursday to Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm, at The Pearl, 16 Steven Street, Hamilton. More »

a special Touch Tour programme for individuals with vision loss
October is Art Beyond Sight Awareness Month and the Art Gallery of Hamilton takes great pleasure in joining this important celebration by welcoming new audiences to the Gallery. Throughout the month of October, AGH is pleased to offer Touch Tours for pre-booked groups allowing a broader audience to experience art in new and innovative ways. Access AGH is a new initiative that will be more fully explored in 2009, but in honour of Art Beyond Sight Awareness Month, the Gallery is thrilled to introduce it for this special event. Touch Tours are available for student and adult groups of up to 15 people, and will focus on two to three specially selected works of art. More »
