Busker Crawl, Freedom of Music in Hamilton: April 23

Busker Crawl – In Support of the Freedom of Music in Hamilton
Friday April 23, Time: 4:30pm – 8:30pm, Location: James St. North

We are calling all like minded musicians and music fans to join us on Friday, April 23rd on James St. North (between York and Barton) in busking.

The city has, over the last few months, fined buskers under the provincial laws again panhandling. We are very much of the opinion that busking is art, not begging, and want to make it very clear to the city, the local law enforcement community and the provincial lawmakers that this is not something that will be tolerated in Hamilton. Alice_Kane_poster.jpgDear Friends,

We invite you to attend a very special storytelling event which will take place in Baden, Ontario on April 18th, the 102nd anniversary of Alice Kane’s birth.  Some of you know that Alice Kane is really the person who started it all in Canada – the revival of oral storytelling as an art form.  Alice Kane’s voice is to be preserved on a set of CDs created by StorySave, a project of Storytellers of Canada – Conteurs du Canada, the eighth voice to be thus preserved.   More »
