This tour is nestled under the Niagara Escarpment in picturesque West Hamilton which has become a major destination for art in Ontario. Dundas Little Theatre closes its 50th Anniversary Season with Vieux Carre by Tennessee Williams.
The story takes place at 722 Toulouse Street, a rundown boarding house in the French Quarter of New Orleans circa 1938. The action is concerned with the interlocking lives of the various residents: a tubercular, homosexual painter, a doomed young girl and her coarse lover, two aging ladies living in near poverty, and the eccentric irrepressible landlady, who veers from cruelty to sentiment in her treatment of her charges.
