BACKSTAGE is the sixth Sky Gilbert work presented by Hammertheatre to have it’s World Premiere in Hamilton, Ontario. Gilbert’s newest one-act play stars Suzanne Bennett, Moynan King, and newcomer Caleb Olivieri. This fall, Oakville Galleries is pleased to present solo exhibitions by two Canadian artists that will transform its spaces with new site-specific works. Rooms, on view at Oakville Galleries in Gairloch Gardens, features a series of multimedia installations by Toronto based artist Marla Hlady that bring together sonic and sculptural elements to draw attention to the otherwise unnoticed soundscapes of the building, formerly a private residence. Kingdom Come, on view at Oakville Galleries at Centennial Square and commissioned in honour of the fortieth anniversary of Sheridan College?s Art & Art History Program, presents an in situ wall painting by alumnus Denyse Thomasos, completed with the assistance of the college?s current students and recent graduates.
