WAHC is very pleased to partner with the Factory Media Arts Centre to present Working Visionary: Jack Chambers a screening and speakers program on a pioneer in Canadian art and artists’ rights, Jack Chambers.
The event will feature: Curator Tyler Tekatch, Filmmaker Chris Lowry and Kristian Clarke, Executive Director of CARFAC and will include screenings of a documentary about Jack Chambers by Chris Lowry; Chambers, Tracks and Gestures (1982) as well as Chambers’ film masterpiece Hart of London (1970) More »

Visit the Fieldcote grounds for a delightful afternoon listening to songs and stories of 1812 as played by the nationally-renowned Ian Bell of Muddy York and enjoy a sampling of our version of some rustic soldier’s fare. Wander through the museum exhibit on the Bloody Assize of 1812 and watch our volunteer quilters as they demonstrate their sewing skills on our Bloody Assize commemorative quilt. More »

Brant Taletellers Guild – Cabaret Friday 25-May-2012 at the Brant Park Inn – featuring Dan Yashinsky.
Dan Yashinsky reweaves old stories with new yarn. In honor of the 200th anniversary of the Brothers Grimm. Dan will tell the story of Mister Globus and Laughing Boy, his version of a Grimm fairytale. It’s about a CEO whose claim to fame is making everything the same, and how a certain dragon helps Laughing Boy on his quest to find something that “can’t be bought, will never be sold, is free – yet more precious than gold.” More »
A new exhibition of 38 masterworks by the celebrated Canadian artist Emily Carr opens at the Art Gallery of Hamilton on May 12 and will be on view through October 28, 2012. An Introduction is a selection of local artists that Earls Court Gallery would like to highlight to Hamilton and the surrounding area. The show features encaustic work by Bruno Capolongo, pop art by Julio Ferrer, an industrial look by Clarence Porter, and large lively floral by Victoria Pearce. These artists exhibit strong technic in illustrating realism paintings with their own painterly stylistic. In addition, there will be several other surprise artists involved! More »
“On Saturday, June 9th 2012, grandmothers from across Canada will walk in solidarity to show their support of African grandmothers who are crucial to the survival of whole communities in the struggle against the AIDS pandemic.
Grandmothers are also hoping to raise money to provide critical services and support for African grandmothers and the children orphaned by AIDS in their care. Pledges and donations can be made either on-line at www.grandmotherscampaign.org/, or at the event, to the Stephen Lewis Foundation. More »

The Stone Tree Studio, are Cirvan and Elise, who live in a land of stone and wood near Dorset ON. For 20Â years Cirvan has been building with wood in an evolution of style from rustic furniture to timber framing toÂ very fine furniture. Cirvan has trained at Rosewood Studio School of Fine Woodworking completing theÂ Craftsman program. He has won awards for his designs of tables and chairs. He designs and builds fineÂ furniture in a variety of wood to suit your home or cottage and welcomes custom orders. He regularlyÂ exhibits his work in local studio tours and galleries as well as at Stone Tree Studio in Dorset Ontario whereÂ he lives with his wife Elise and 2 daughters. More »
