Here is your event mailer for all the ghoulish activities occurring at The Staircase Theatre for the month of October and a sneak peek at what November will bring.

Every Monday
Mikeless Mondays in the Bistro (7-11pm)
First signed up First play. Come out and support your local musical and spoken word talent at Hamilton’s coolest Open Mike. Host Raphael will keep the stage busy from 7 to 11 pm.
Late Night menu in effect from 8 to 10 pm! $5 food and drink specials!
Every Wednesday Night (7:30-9pm)
The Workshow- Improv Comedy
Announcing the return of “The WorkShow”!  An improv workshop and show in one.  Advanced improvisers will learn and perform in Hamilton’s Staircase Theatre.
The last Wednesday of every month the workshop part disappears almost completely and a full improv comedy show takes its place.  Improv Comedy : the most dangerous Theatrical discipline after nude pitbull juggling.

Every Thursday night
GoodFoot(9pm-12)
DJ Sam and David spin the funky vibes with special late night pricing and Break dancing!…Did we say Break Dancing?…oh yeah, we are so all over the 70’s!

Every Sunday
Brunch in the Bistro (11-3)
Delicious breakfast fare to start your Sunday off right!

Draft Night (8-11pm)
Show us your pay stub, and receive reduced draft prices and green plate specials..

October 2
7pm Anik See Book Launch- Postcards and Other Stories
Come help celebrate the book launch of Anik See’s new collection of short fiction. The evening will consist of 3 readings: Anik See (who is coming from Amsterdam), Stuart Ross (a Toronto),
and Gary Barwin (a Hamilton). There will be books for sale, as well as snacks/light refreshments.

7pm  Private Wedding Party at The Staircase.  Whether it’s your birthday, anniversary or wedding we can make your day special…and don’t forget the Staircase improvisational workshops

October 6 (8-10)
Horror in the Hammer presents
FRIGHT NIGHT
First Tuesday of every night Horror in the Hammer screens movies to scream at.  Admission $5 Join HITH in the bistro after the movies for a macabre art display of local artists.
This month Horror In Hammer presents Choptober: An Evening to Dismember with Eric F programming Texas Chainsaw Massacre II & Frontiers. Box office open half an hour before the show begins.

October 17
Jewish Girls Don’t Kayak (8-9:30)
Join award-winning playwright and performer Robyn Israel as she takes you on a personal journey, from her traditional upbringing in Montreal to her bohemian sojourn in California and London.
Of course, when you go through life with the name Israel, there are bound to be bumps along the way. Jewish Girls Don’t Kayak is a hysterical and honest look at the life of an unconventional person
who embraces other cultures while still trying to maintain her Jewish identity. Tickets $20/$15 (Students and Seniors 65+)

Green Drinks in the Bistro

Hamilton Zombie Walk
Hamilton Zombie Walk presents an advance, World premiere screening of ‘Autumn’  This and other events will be the culmination of the Hamilton Zombie Walk so come party until your body parts fall off.

2nd Annual Devil’s Night Fundraiser @ The Staircase
Support local theatre: come to a party!
Last year’s Devil’s Night Fundraiser was a great time, and this year will be bigger and better.
This year all proceeds go directly to The Staircase Theatre to support our much beloved venue and its programmes.
In keeping with last year there will be: Live Music, Sexy Dancing, Comedy (including, from the Toronto Fringe, PS I Love You),
A Costume Contest with Prizes, Delicious Snacks Catered by Tapestry Bistro, Cash Bar
Tickets are $13 each

Volunteer  at the Staircase
Pizza, beverages and sweat. Once a month we gather together to do the little things that might otherwise slip through the cracks. Jobs range from as simple as cleaning to as complicated as
lighting and sound improvements in the theatre based on your knowledge and comfort level. You provide the sweat and we’ll take care of the pizza and beverages.

Seiwa Kai Karate of Hamilton
Seiwa Kai Karate of Hamilton is a non profit sport organization dedicated to teaching people of all ages the sport and ancient art of Goju Ryu Karate. We offer world class quality of instruction,
with direct lineage and connection with the masters in Japan. We also supplement understanding of Karate with instruction in Judo and Kobudo. Come out and try a free class!
