Visions 2011: The British Invasion is shaping up to be the event of the season. The Auction Committee, our board members and our staff have been hard at work in preparation for this important GPAG event.
There are an exciting variety of entries for the juried show, with a number of new artists joining the many regular gallery supporters. The pieces to be included were selected early in March by Rick Manners, well known Grimsby artist. The talent of local artists will also be featured in our guitar and L.P. sale; hand-decorated guitars and artfully altered L.P. sleeves will be available for sale on Auction night only. Donations of auction items are still needed: please call us if you have an item or service that could be sold at the auction. We are also still accepting works for the non-juried portion of the Auction, so get your forms filled out and your work dropped off by Sunday, March 20th at 5pm to be included.
A few select items will soon be on display in the gallery vestibule. These include a fabulous all-metal Union Jack crafted by Beamsville artist Floyd Elzinga and an inspirational display of mid-60’s musical memorabilia. The ever –popular Toonie Sale will be back – this year during the preview and auction days only, but the price is still the same; $2 each or $5 for 3 chances to win your favourite item. Auction items will be on display in the Main Gallery by Friday March 25th and advance bidding on silent auction items can start as soon as the bidding sheets are out. From 7 – 9 p.m. on the 25th you can also meet the contributing artists at the Artists Reception and Auction Preview. Refreshments will be served so plan to come and bring all of your friends!
Tickets for Saturday night are only $25 each and include entertainment, food and wine tasting by Legends Estates Winery, our event sponsor. A cash bar will be available throughout the evening. Our 2010 auction was a sold out affair and ticket sales this year are headed in the same direction.
