Storytelling for adult listeners featuring Tom Lips, singer / songwwriter / storyteller from Ottawa, and Mary McCullum Baldasaro, storyteller extraordinaire from Kitchener, known to many of you for her stories told at The Story Barn. Members of the Guelph Guild will be telling as well including several Story Barn regulars: Beve Matson, Frank Toplin, and Sandy Schoen.

2. March 27. World Storytelling Day Concert. “Awake and Dreaming.”
Stories by Tongues Wagging (Caroleigh Wehking & Glenna Janzen).

3. March 28 – April 6. Toronto Storytelling Festival.
Ten days of storytelling in a variety of venues from museums to Harbourfront to Lulu Lounge.
You can hear tellers you know (I’ll be telling on Mar 30 and on April 5) and learn to love new voices, too.

7. May 1 and May 8. WORKSHOP: A STORY IN YOUR POCKET.
Offered by Mary-Eileen McClear at The Story Barn in Baden.
For teachers, parents, grandparents and caregivers of young children (pre-school to grade 3).
This workshop will explore a variety of types of stories including paper, handkerchief, string, and, of course, folktales.
Thursday evenings, 7:00 -9:00 p.m.

8. May 10. The Spirit of Harriet Tubman performed by Leslie McCurdy.
The Mercury Theatre, St. Mary’s.
This show was scheduled for March 8 but that was the big snowstorm so it has been rescheduled to this date. It was a sell-out at the time so I’m not sure if you could get tickets if you didn’t have them before, but you could check with Nancy Vermond (519 284-2698) to find out.

9. May 23 – May 25. Retreat for Women in Mid-Life.
Facilitated by Karen James-Abra and Claire Bowers. “A time to … interact with myth and story, hear each other deeply, journal, dance, and celebrate who we truly are.”
