A Letter From The Co-Chairpersons Of The Board
Greetings everyone:
Get ready for some changes at The Factory: Hamilton Media Arts Centre!
The new board of trustees is pleased to announce that, after much deliberation, we have begun the process of a complete overhaul of The Factory: Hamilton Media Arts Centre. We acknowledge that there have been great strides made during the life of the organization to date. However, in order to truly fulfil its mandate as the Hamilton Media Arts Centre, the Factory must be completely restructured, reorganized, and reopened.
We are launching a rebranding campaign and a complete operational overhaul of the organization immediately. A special committee has already been assembled, and is working diligently on this task. We are looking forward to unveiling Hamilton’s NEW media arts centre late this spring!
We believe that The Factory is more than a neighbourhood organization; it can serve the entire city of Hamilton and a broad media collective. In the future, the Factory will be working more closely with other organizations in and around Hamilton. We anticipate a greater role for the Factory as a hub of activity for the media arts community in this city.
The official launch of The Factory will take place at a Gala Event in the late spring. This event will follow the annual general meeting in the spring.
In order to accomplish this exciting vision, we are going to be looking for your help to make this a reality. We want The Factory to be everything it can be and in doing so, serve it’s membership better. Have you got something to say? We want to hear it!
Members that renew their membership before our AGM, AND register a friend or family member as a NEW member in addition to himself or herself, will receive $50 in Factory Bucks. This is a $50 credit that can be applied to the cost of equipment rentals, facility use, and even workshops!
