OTA is the first adaptation of Robert Lepage and Ex Machina's The Seven Streams of the River Ota. Directed and adapted by Stephanie Saunders, OTA is comprised of three of the original "seven streams".
The play begins in the aftermath of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. An American soldier is sent to document the devastation and meets a woman who is a victim of the explosion. The two discover themselves and each other in the midst of one of the most appalling events of the Twentieth Century. The play weaves stories of the Holocaust and post-war America into the tale of the two lovers. OTA is about re-birth, forgiveness and the meeting of East and West.
