Artword
Theatre has been selected as the venue for the fourth
element of Colouring Ourselves
Theatre/Dance/Spoken word.
Colouring
Ourselves: a festival of Jewish student creativity is a
four-day, multi-media festival that features the work of
students and recent graduates in the areas of film and
video, visual art, dance, theatre, spoken word, and music.
Colouring Ourselves is hosted by Jewish Campus Services.
The festival is organized into four main elements (see
festival schedule below)- the Art Gallery, the Film
Screenings, the Music night, and the Theatre/Dance/Spoken
word night.
Colouring
Ourselves has been one of JCS most successful
endeavours. Colouring Ourselves is truly a
unique and wonderful program. It is organised entirely by
students and features an eclectic, quality array of student
work.
Colouring
Ourselves fills what otherwise would be a wide void in the
Jewish student arts community. There is no other
program that exists in Toronto or in its surrounding
community that seeks to showcase and celebrate Jewish
students creative work. Over a hundred students
became closely involved with the festival last year as
artists, and hundreds of members of the Toronto creative
community attended. The festival grows with each
passing year, and we are proud to be entering our fifth
anniversary this March 2002.
