ARRAYMUSIC presents
Scratch!
"Scratch means freedom to create, to make things without
vanity -- there are limitless possibilities -- any number of
ways of doing things, any number of musics." -- - Howard
Skempton (composer, former Scratch Orchestra musician)
ARRAYMUSIC presents a 3-day musical exploration very much in
the tradition of the British Experimental Scratch Orchestra.
Through improvised music, sound sculpture, experimental
music, we have invited composers from these diverse
backgrounds to compose works for the ARRAYMUSIC ensemble to
question the tradition of composed music. Our prominent
guests, both composers and performers, will pose the
question: "what defines a musical work?" We invite you, our
audience, to provide your own answers to this provocative
program.
