Black Bride, a play written and performed by Andrew Kelm, is a dark and funny tale of a man obsessed with a nursery rhyme. He begins to pull apart the images and associations, unraveling the interwoven threads drawn from Freud, Campbell and Mother Goose.

The show was much acclaimed at the Toronto Fringe of '92.

"The most impressive and creative piece in the Fringe . . . " Jon Kaplan, Now, July 9, 1992

". . . an engaging performer-writer with a great sense of timing . . . " Liam Lacey, Globe and Mail, July 1, 1992

Andrew used the late night performances at Arword to experiment with the show. Every night was different.

Philip Hare, a Toronto artist, installed two sculptural wall pieces, representing Black Bride's guardians.
