Mission Mandate Strategy Renovation Technical Specifications		For five years, Artword Theatre occupied a tiny studio space on the second floor of an industrial building in downtown Toronto (right next door to where we are now). Many wonderful things happened in that space.   From 1993 to 1998, Artword Theatre presented more than 100 events, involving over 250 performers and artists, including 10 original Canadian plays 5 Artword Theatre productions 57 concerts, dance events, readings 3 opera projects and 2 Festivals of the Human Voice!   In 1998, our landlord told us that he was moving his clothing factory out to the suburbs. The one-storey building next door would be vacant. Would we like to build a theatre there? He offered to help with the renovations.   A year later we opened to the public.
