JAZZ double bill: Tom Altobelli Group + Scott Taplay Group, Thur Mar 3

Thursday March 3, 2016, at 8 pm, $10. Jazz double bill of original compositions by two inventive groups: the Tom Altobelli Group, plus the Scott Taplay Group.  The Tom Altobelli Group will play a set of original compositions by bassist Tom Altobelli, arranged for his quintet: Andrew King sax, Chris Bruder piano, Scott McIntosh guitar, Jordan Snider drumss. The Scott Taplay Group, Jonas Pearson Paavola bass, Victor Agrippa alto sax, Jon Pascoal drums, and Scott Taplay guitar, will play compositions by Scott and by band members.
Tom Altobelli is an upright and electric bassist, currently in Hamilton, ON. He is a graduate of both the Humber College Bachelor of Music, and Mohawk College Music programs. Tom’s projects include The Altobeelays, Mother Tareka and the Rebel Funktion, Monkley Cascade, The Koopa Troop, The Aubrey Wilson Quartet, and his own original jazz group (Tom Altobelli Group).
