Bassist and composer Alex Fournier brings his sextet Triio: Bea Labikova alto sax; Aidan Sibley trombone; Tom Fleming guitar; Ashley Urquhart piano; Andrew Miller drums; Alex Fournier bass/compositions. Triio has been bassist/composer Alex Fournier’s main vehicle since 2013. Growing from a quartet with a book of standards to an entirely original project, the group has grown from a more casual outfit to dedicated proponents of contemporary creative music. And setting up the evening is the Dan Pitt Trio: Dan Pitt guitars/compositions; Alex Fournier bass; Andrew Miller drums. The trio features compositions and improvisations composed by Dan that focus on the blend between modern music and creative/free improvisation. Dan played a few years ago at Artword Artbar, when he was a student at Mohawk. We are looking forward to seeing him again.
