Ashley’s debut full-length album Come In From The Cold, released on June 15, 2010, delivers a frank and refreshing perspective on love and life. The simplicity of delivery coupled with a warm maple voice provides a record that is friendly and evocative, soulful and honest. A rich tapestry of country tinged sounds weaves through-out, inspiring thoughts of Willy Nelson, Anne Murray, Emmylou Harris and Eva Cassidy. Growing up on everything from old-time country to folk, blues and southern rock, her music resonates.
“The title of Ashley Condon’s debut recording ‘Come In From The Cold’ couldn’t be more apt. Rich earthy tones wrapped lovingly around a voice as fresh and pure as a forest stream cannot help but melt the coldest heart.” – Glenn Meisner, CBC Atlantic Airwaves
Ria Mae has made several significant achievements since the release of her first EP Between the Bad in November 2009 including several notable showcases and festival performances. Ria was named Best New Artist by readers of Halifax’s The Coast weekly. She has shared the stage with acclaimed performers such as Rose Cousins, Amelia Curran, Tanya Davis, The Cliks, and Hidden Cameras. Ria Mae also lends her talents to the screen. She recently starred as Emily, a renegade homeless musician in Snow, a film written and directed by Rohan Fernando.
“Ria Mae is a classic indie force – the kind that will jump over anything tossed in her way and plough ahead with the music in mind. Her brand of pop and folk is a balance, at times challenging her audience with intimacy, at times a gentle melodic encouragement. The thing is the subject – raw, unhinged, and uncomfortably open.” – Amelia Curran, 2010 JUNO Award Winner
