Concert “Men in Black”: Singer-songwriters J.P. Riemens & Edgar Breau, Sat Feb 9

JPRiemens_close2c.jpgRiemens_Breau_feb 9 poster_c.jpgSaturday February 9 at 8 pm, $10. “Men in Black”, a dynamite concert with two brilliant singer-songwriters JP (Paul) Riemens and Edgar Breau.
JP Riemens is one of our favourite singer-songwriters, as well as our collaborator on the upcoming May 2013 remount of our play Tobacco Troubadour, based on JP ‘s songs about growing up in tobacco country. http://www.jpriemens.com/ “J.P. Riemens is a songwriter’s songwriter. His rootsy, honest approach speaks in volumes through his songs. He is at home in an intimate acoustic environment as well as the Concert Hall and has played in venues across the country with a host of noteable acts.”
edgardecember30_7_650.jpgEdgar Breau will be joined by vocalist Colina Phillips and stand-up bass player Kevin Christoff (who won the HMA’s bass player of the year for 2012). Edgar brings us his new folky-pop-roots CD Patches of Blue. “… While mainly known as a member of the proto-punk/psych band, Simply Saucer, his solo endeavors are more on the rootsier side. Edgar explores all aspects of the genre: folk, country, blues, celtic, and much more. Every single song has a unique spirit. Highlights include the trippy title track, the funky One Kind of Love, the wonderfully folky Dreams of Jack Kerouac, and the island sounds of Maria the Sea and the Sun.” Hamilton Blues Lover.   http://auteurresearch.tumblr.com/edgarbreau
