Friday November 1 at 8 pm, at 8 pm, pwyc. Singer-songwriter and Artword favourite Mark McNeil has formed a new trio, The Flashbacks, where the accent is on Hamilton history and nostalgia. The group — with Cyndi Devereux on fiddle, Orange McFarland on upright bass and Mark McNeil on guitar, ukulele and vocals — performs songs about everything from the Battle of Stoney Creek, the ghost ships The Scourge and Hamilton, to the city’s long-gone trolley buses. Spiced with some familiar tunes, you’ll hear original ditties about local heroes, villains and eccentrics as well as Mark’s award-winning ballad Private Riley about the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry.
