Special Concert: Graydon James and the Young Novelists PLUS Gabrielle Papillon and the Mighty Oak, Sun May 25, 7 pm

Sunday May 25 at 7 pm, $10. A special double bill featuring Toronto’s Graydon James and the Young Novelists, and Haligonians Gabrielle Papillon and her band The Mighty Oak, who are on a special tour previewing Gabrielle’s new album set for release later in 2014. Both bands were at Artword Artbar last fall — we are pleased to have them back!
In the span of three fast-paced years Graydon James & the Young Novelists have won a Galaxie Rising Star award, toured the east coast three times, played numerous festivals (including the Halifax Urban Folk Festival, OtherFolk, Niagara’s In The Soil festival, and the Burlington Sound of Music festival), and released three warmly received  albums. Canadian singer-songwriter Gabrielle Papillon sings stories real and imagined, strums chords both grand and delicate. Above all, Papillon loves the journey of a song and draws inspiration from guitar slinging troubadours such as Ani Difranco, Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon.
