Koopa Troop, jazz arrangements of video game music, Thurs Mar 19

Thursday March 19, 2015, at 8 pm, $5. Jazz bassist Tom Altobelli has a new project, Koopa Troop, a new group who play their own jazz arrangements of classic video game music. Songs from Mario, Tetris, Pokemon, Metroid, and Banjo Kazooie. The band members, all Humber alumni, are: Chelsea McBride flute/tenor sax, Wilson McLeish guitar, Chris Bruder keys, Tom Altobelli bass, Jared Goldman drums. This concert was snowed out back in November, so we finally found a new date for it! Opening set by Grease Monkey: Braden Varcoe guitar, Greg Chambers keyboard, Kevin Fournier drums, and guests Victoria Cox on saxophone and Jonas Pearson Paavola on bass.
